HomeBrew contest: Escondido’s Holiday Wine
Cellar is hosting its annual HomeBrew competition and amateur
beermakers are invited to submit their suds between now and Jan.
31. Past entries have included barrel-aged vanilla bean stout and
curry-coconut export stout. The winning recipe will be brewed by

Hilton Garden Inn: Sommelier Kevin Frantze and
emcee Bob Rauch will lead a tasting of six wines on select
Saturdays this summer at the Hilton Garden Inn in Del Mar. Each 5
p.m. tasting is $29 and includes six wine tastings and a variety of
specialty cheeses, fruits and nuts, plus a bottle of wine to take
